From that very first email I receive from an expectant mom, I am filled with anticipation and excitement. What a thrilling (and somewhat terrifying) season of life! I remember it well, so I love sharing in those feelings. We discuss due date guesses, gender surprises, aches and pains, outrageous cravings and excited siblings. I always feel like I've made a new friend, and I wait patiently to hear the good news that baby has arrived and everyone is resting at home peacefully.
I arrived that Sunday afternoon, Starbucks treats in hand, to meet sweet Brooklyn and her overjoyed family. She slept peacefully for most of the session, and was most content stretched out. I love how babies decide the pace and flow of a session. I can usually gauge by a few questions or just observing for a few minutes, what will make baby most content. And this girly just wanted to take up space with her arms and enjoy this post-womb life. Oh, and her smiles! She smirked and grinned the whole time. I mean, I know it's allegedly "gas" but come on now... she's just happy ;)
He was wearing a Batman "Big Brother" shirt... my daughters think he is the COOLEST because of this. #BatmanObsessedinthishouse Besides his excellent choice in superheroes, he was completely proud of his new sister. He was content just to look at her sweet face and count her fingers.
The nursery was. simply. divine. Grey and pale pink with elephants - I was in love.
Daddy-Daughter shots get me every time. Precious.
All stretched out like a champ.
Not having any of that swaddle-newborn-baby-pose-me business. No sir.
So, so beautiful. Stunning Momma and baby girl!
I loved my time with you and your family, Brooklyn! You are already so cherished and adored. Welcome to the word, sweet girl.
