When I bought my first DSLR camera back in 2010, I was pregnant with my oldest and completely clueless about photography. I had always admired beautiful images - but had very little training or education about it as a stand alone art form. BUT, I knew what I liked and didn't like. And I knew what felt right to my eyes and heart.
It's this feeling that I see in the students and Moms who attend my mentoring sessions and workshops. They know what they love and what works, but struggle with the specifics and settings to get there. I can't express my pride and absolute JOY watching the lightbulbs go off! Lots of "OH! That's what that does!" and "Now I get it!"
It's music to my nerdy-teacher-ears ;)
Our small (yet mighty!) private Facebook page has grown into a beautiful place to share, relate and cheer one another on. These women, some who haven't even met each other yet, are so supportive! Not only that, they have grown their skills tremendously.
They have mastered manual mode, dabbled with clean editing, and are continually learning more every time they pick up the camera. They've figured out that the only real way to improve, is by practicing weekly or daily. There is no quick way to master photography, and you won't leave instantly knowing how to do all the things. But picking up your camera and learning something new is THE way to get better.
And now I gotta do that humble-Mom-brag and show off some of their beautiful work...

You guys, this is only a very small portion of the phenomenal work created by this group. I am continually amazed by their passion, energy and purpose behind choosing to pick up a camera. They are blessing their families, children, and friends with timeless images! Pictures matter and it just warms my heart.
The next Only Little Once 101 Workshop is coming up Saturday, March 25th. You can sign up by clicking the button below. I would love to meet you, chat photography, and get you off Auto mode. Seats are limited. I hope see you there!
